Polyglycolide
Polyglycolide

Composition: Absorbable synthetic braided sutures, consisting of carefully braided monofilaments of polyglycolic acid.

Specifications: Perfect braid structure, excellent manipulation properties, high tensile strength. Complete resorption within 60-90 days. Causes minimal inflammatory tissue reaction.

Analogs: PGA, Polisorb, Safil, Marlin, Biosorb.


Mepfil-LAC
Mepfil-LAC

Composition: Absorbable synthetic braided sutures made ??from glycolide and L lactide (90% glycolide and 10% lactide) with coating.

Specifications: Complete absorption within 56-70 days. Causes minimal inflammatory tissue reaction. Due to coating has minimal "sawing" effect.

Analogs: Vicryl.

Composition: Absorbable surgical suture material made of serous layer of the small intestine of cattle or sheep intestine submucosa.

Specifications: Loss of strength after implantation in living tissue 50% - 7 days, 80% - 12 days, complete resorption within 70-90 days. The period of absorption may vary depending on the patient response.

Composition:Nonabsorbable synthetic monofilament suture of polyvinylidene fluoride.

Specifications: Has the highest biocompatibility, does not injure tissue. Extremely durable, flexible, hydrophobic, nonwick, hold safely the surgeon knot. Retain the strength properties over a rather long period. The filaments are not exposed to depositing of insoluble compounds.

Analogs: Coralene (Flexamid), Resopren, Pronova, Marilon.

Composition: The material is made of braided and twisted polyester filaments of white and green. The filament fibers consist of long chains of polyester (polyethylene terephthalate).

Specifications:Causes minimal acute inflammatory reaction followed by formation of fibrinous connective tissue around the suture. Resistant to absorption and any strength reduction when stretching due to inertness to the fermentation action of tissues. Has high resistance to repeated folding, perfect controllability and the knot safety.

Ftorest

Composition: Non-absorbable polyester (lavsan) twisted filament with uniform fluoropolymer coating.

Specifications:The filament has high adhesiveness, safe knot. The coating facilitates the passage of the filaments through tissues.

Surgical needles used in the manufacturing of a sterile suture material

PiercingPiercing – the needle body is round, flattened in the middle for a better grip in the needle holder, with a tapered needle point. Used when working with the internal organs, for anastomosis, when connecting homogeneous soft tissues (muscles, fascia, mucous membranes, etc.).

 

CuttingCutting - triangular cross section throughout the needle with the outer cutting edge, easily pierces hard tissues. Used for sewing heavy tissues, skin.

 

SpatulaSpatula- flattened (trapezoidal) needle double-edged. Has a better penetrability between thin layers of tissue without damaging them. Used in ophthalmology, microsurgery.

 

TaperkatTaperkat - a needle round in cross section with a short cutting tip, primarily for calcified vessels.

 

TrocarTrocar - a combination of piercing and cutting needle – a piercing needle sharped as a cutting one, for hard tissues.

 

HexHex - a lancet needle with hexagonal cross-section. Has a better penetrability between thin layers of tissue without damaging them. Used in ophthalmology.

 

BluntBlunt - a needle round in cross section with rounded (blunt) tip. The blunt end ensures the preservation of vessels and tendons when sewing. Applied to parenchymal organs, cervix, liver.

 

Ophthalmic setOphthalmic set. Needles for fixing of an artificial lens. For manufacturing of needles there are used high-strength medical steel and nonabsorbable polypropylene filament.
